Pandora Hearts manga, created by Jun Mochizuki, was published in Square Enix’s Monthly GFantasy from May 18, 2006, to March 18, 2015. It’s collected in 24 volumes. In North America, Broccoli Books first licensed it in English but later dropped it. Yen Press then took over, releasing it in Yen Plus from June 2009. The first English volume came out on December 15, 2009. Square Enix also published it in English on Manga Up! in July 2022. It’s licensed in Indonesia by Elex Media Komputindo and in France by Ki-oon.

The Pandora Hearts anime, produced by Studio Xebec, aired 25 episodes in 2009, directed by Takao Kato. It ran from April 3 to September 25, 2009, broadcasted on TBS, BS-TBS, CBC, and MBS. NIS America licensed it in North America and released English-subtitled DVDs on October 26, 2010.

By March 2021, Pandora Hearts had over 5.5 million copies in circulation. It ranked high on the Tohan charts, with volume eight at 21st place in March 2009 and volume nine at number one in July 2009. Kim Morrissy of Anime News Network hailed PandoraHearts as one of the defining manga of the 00s and early 2010s.
