Pandora Hearts manga tells the story of Oz, the heir to the Vessalius family, one of the Four Great Dukedoms. He lives with his sister Ada and friend Gilbert. During Oz’s Coming-of-Age Ceremony, strange events occur, and he’s thrown into a supernatural prison called Abyss by a group called the Baskervilles. In Abyss, he discovers he can make contracts with Chains, creatures living there. He makes a contract with Alice, known as the Bloody Black Rabbit, to escape. After ten years, he returns and joins Pandora, a group researching Chains. Together with Alice, Gilbert, and others, they uncover secrets about Abyss, Pandora, and the Tragedy of Sablier. Jack Vessalius, thought to be a hero, is revealed as the cause of the tragedy, and Oz learns his true identity as the B-Rabbit. He confronts Jack and works to prevent the world’s destruction. In the end, Oz and Alice sacrifice themselves to save the world, and Pandora disbands. A century later, they’re reincarnated, bringing closure to their friends and loved ones.
